Restoration of an Old House in Válor, La Alpujarra.
The starting point is an old house with misguided prior interventions before our involvement.
The intentions guiding our participation in this project are the preservation of construction systems and materials characteristic of the material heritage of Alpujarra domestic architecture in a house that is approximately 100 years old. Our intervention allows for the continued structural function of stone walls and wooden and cane ceilings. These preserved elements are integrated into the final state of the rehabilitation, with the treated wooden structural beams remaining visible and functional as they rest on stone walls. Additionally, the height extension of the second floor serves both to integrate with the adjoining dwelling and to adapt to the new uses proposed by the developer.
